||The players here are anyone who wants to buy an NFA weapon/firearm (you) and the ATF.
||41F is a rule and procedure change that dropped one requirement and added others.
||The requirement that the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) in your county sign off on the purchase of NFA weapons has been dropped. For those who live in counties where the CLEO refuses to sign off for liability or other reasons, it now will be possible for you to purchase and get a tax stamp for NFA weapons.
||All Trustees of the trust will now be required to submit a separate ATF Form 5320.23 along with a passport style photo (easily obtained at a drug store or mailbox store) and two completed FBI Form FD-258 (fingerprint cards).
Individuals have had to comply with these added rules for years. Starting July 16, the rules will also apply to Gun Trust trustees.
||This change is nationwide. No one will escape these rule changes!
||The new rules go into effect July 16, 2016.
||The new rules change how trusts can obtain ownership of NFA weapons and gives the ATF more control over who can own these items.
